Take Action NOW!
Reclaim your VOICE for small farmers around the world
The US Farm Bill, which impacts small farmers worldwide, is currently being negotiated in Congress. It has been a major struggle, with big business lobbying hard to claim taxpayer money originally intended to support American family farmers. The farmbill also dictates farm subsidies -- which can be devastating for farmers in developing countries.
YOU CAN BE PART OF THE CHANGE.

Thank Senator McCaskill: She VOTED NO on Peru FTA!!!
The Senate voted Tuesday, Dec. 4 on a bill to expand NAFTA-style trade policies to Peru in the Peru Free Trade Agreement. Sen. McCaskill is a key "undecided" vote, and she has the power to stop this dangerous expansion of NAFTA. She was under a lot of pressure but voted no anyway.
After she campaigned and won on a fair trade platform, Missouri fair trade and farm advocates are calling on Sen. McCaskill to stand up for Missouri families by voting no on the Peru Free Trade Agreement.
In last November's elections, the voters sent Congress a strong message that the American people want a change in trade policy. The Wall Street journal reported that six in 10 Republicans in a recent poll agreed with a statement that free trade has been bad for the U.S.
On November 8th the House of Representatives ignored this mandate and voted 285 to 135 to pass the US-Peru Free Trade Agreement, a NAFTA-style free trade deal which will be devastating to family farmers, indigenous people, workers, the environment and people with AIDS. The vote in the Senate has been scheduled for tomorrow!
