Honduras: Another attack on Rigores; Report from delegation in September

The FNRP-Colon denounces to the Honduran people and the International community, that on Friday October 14, 2011 after an armed attack on the campesinos of the National Recuperation Movement of Rigores, ,compañero Segundo Mendoza of the settlement of La Consentida was disappeared – the private guards of the  big landowners and the police from Operation Xatruch abandoned the plantation in the afternoon leaving the body of Segundo and another body of an unknown person hidden.

HONDURAS: 16th Journalist Killed; More trouble in Rigores

Saludos tod@s from Progreso, Honduras Here is a summary with an update based on information from calls from the NUEVA SUYAPA COOPERATIVE OF THE CAMPESINO MOVEMENT OF AGUAN (MCA), Central Nacional de Trabajadores del Campo [National Organization of Farm Workers] (CNTC),, and Annie Byrd (Rights Action) in Tegucigalpa:

The events in Rigores over the past four days are extremely worrisome and show a startling escalation by the military/police in Aguan and the military and government propaganda in the media. Our delegation met with the Rigores community before the current repression and found the community had started to rebuild from the massive eviction and burning of the community by police the first week of July.

As of today (9/20) at 3:28pm Honduras time the Campesino Movement of Rigores (MCR) has been evicted from their lands.
